Question: If there is an earthquake on Jupiter, Mars, Venus etc. will it still be called EARTHquake ?

  1. Hi there!

The seismic events that some scientists propose on Mars, are called marsquakes. So I guess the others could then be called jupiterquakes and venusquakes… πŸ˜‰ But remember that Jupiter is a gas planet, and Venus is too hot for plate tectonics, so the earthquakes we know from Earth won’t happen there. πŸ™‚

    All the best,
    Andi
