Hello!
I have always loved the ocean and anything sea-related, so I think that’s probably the main reason.
I was born quite close to the sea and that’s where I learnt how to swim, not at the swimming pool. When I was a child I spent quite a few family-holidays on boats and most of my family goes scuba diving so I started that when I was really young, which makes you feel really close to marine life. I also love swimming…actually I think I’d quite like to be a fish for a day or two 😀
I was also really interested in climate research and the ocean is a very important component of it, so this is why I decided to study oceanography during my master. For my PhD I’m also studying more about the atmosphere, which is also equally important (even if personally I still prefer the ocean!).
