No, I did not believe that the world would end in 2012. Every day people will make predictions that are not based on science but on myths. We suspect that the Sun will grow to a red giant in about 5 billion years from now, and that would probably be the end of many life forms on Earth. Of course, there is also the possibility of a collision with a large meteorite (like the one that killed the dinosaurs about 65 million years ago), but so far we have not seen one of those heading our way.
